Explore the fascinating Renon Earth Pyramids, up to 30 meters high! Easily reach them with the Renon Cable Car and Railway. An adventure not to be missed!

Enjoy breathtaking views and accessible trails for the whole family.
The Earth Pyramids of Renon are spectacular natural Geological formations on the Renon plateau, near Bolzano, in South Tyrol.

Formed by the erosion of moraine deposits from the last ice age (about 25,000 years ago), they consist of clay columns protected at the top by “cap” boulders that slow their degradation.
When the stone falls, the Pyramid quickly crumbles under the action of the rain.
They are among the most spectacular and tallest in Europe, with some reaching 30 meters.

They continually change shape, creating new generations.
Free to visit in three areas
Longomoso – Monte di Mezzo
(Finsterbachtal), the most accessible and often the most impressive for families, with easy trails.

Soprabolzano – Oberbozen
(Katzenbachtal or Rio Rivellone) are the highest (up to 20-30 meters in some cases), with panoramic views.

Unterinn – Auna di Sotto
a little more isolated, but equally fascinating
The most convenient way to reach them is to take the Cable Car from Bolzano to Soprabolzano and then the characteristic Renon Train to Collalbo.

From there, follow the marked “Erdpyramidenweg” trail (about 15-20 minutes on foot) to reach the pyramids.
The Ritten Card (available at many local hotels) allows free use of the cable car and train.
Other routes to the Pyramids include the Finsterbach River and the Chestnut Trail (Keschtnweg), which connects them all.
