Space travel, the Solar System, tunnels with the Stars… The Planetarium, with its six-meter diameter dome, is the ideal tool to better understand the laws that make the sky appear above us as we see it
The Planetarium of the Museum of Science and Archaeology, in addition to the traditional opto-mechanical projector that creates an ideal sky to be observed, has an innovative full dome digital projector equipped with sophisticated software, which allows the creation of extremely spectacular shows immersive on various themes, making space travel possible in orbit around the Earth, inside the International Space Station, on the Moon, and beyond the Solar System.
Around the dome there is an interactive and stimulating installation, which aims to involve not only the eye, but also touch and hearing.
The actual journey begins in the second section, entering a spaceship that tells the main stages of robotic and human exploration of Space.
Then, in the third section, you explore the Solar System with scale reproductions of the planets, finds from meteoric events and a real lunar meteorite to touch.
The tour ends with a Space Tunnel, in the fourth section, where stars, nebulae, galaxies and clusters of galaxies meet to go ever further into the Universe.
also a special tour dedicated to six noteworthy scientists who have made great contributions to astronomy and space sciences, their stories and discoveries are told in the sections, next to their topic of expertise.
