Dungeons of the Inquisition
These cells, used by the Holy Office, are among the places most full of suggestion and mystery. Particularly touching is the cell with graffiti left by prisoners, including Andrea Lombardini, locked up for about 90 days between 1759 and 1760, which tell stories of suffering and resistance.
Among the most legible engravings stands out the date “4/12/1759”

Lombardini used a language made of esoteric signs, probably to hide the meaning of his messages from the inquisitors. These symbols have not yet been fully deciphered and constitute a real historical enigma.
In addition to the symbols, there are words, signs and drawings that document the suffering experienced by the prisoners, made by scratching the white plaster with sharp shards
a true story.
A series of casual coincidences led to the unveiling of an intricate mystery that was hidden in some graffiti discovered in 1979 by a group of young speleologists in the dungeons of the Inquisition of Narni, in Umbria, made in 1759 by an enigmatic prisoner named Giuseppe Andrea Lombardini.
A room linked to the practices of the Inquisition, striking for its dark atmosphere and the historical testimonies preserved there.

Guided tours are carried out ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY BY RESERVATION

The Aqueduct (visit)
The Roman aqueduct called “Formina” was perhaps built by the curator aquarum Nerva, in 27 AD under the empire of Tiberius. The aqueduct is approximately 13 km long and maintains a constant slope.
It winds along the slopes of the hills, crosses three mountains with as many tunnels and crosses some waterways through the bridges. the visit to the aqueduct takes place only in the period from May to October (for a minimum of 4 people)
It is possible to walk in a 700-meter long conduit, to understand the difficulties overcome by the workers during the excavation in the rock, admire the fantastic concretions and then exit, through a steep spiral staircase dug into the rock, from an 18-meter deep well.
