A true cultural festival, with popular music, art, folklore. Symbol of the Summer Solstice and ancient traditions, it is one of the oldest and most evocative events in Umbria, celebrated every year on the shores of the lake.

Festa delle Acque
The origin of this festival is lost in the mists of time: it was born as a propitiatory rite to celebrate the Summer Solstice and pay homage to the aquatic deities, in particular to the god Neptune.

The fear that sunlight could run out led the population to perform a series of propitiatory rites that culminated in a parade of boats.
In this way, they tried to ward off danger and prayed to the gods to keep the course of natural events unchanged.
It is traditionally held between the end of June and the beginning of July, lasting about nine days.

Parade of the Allegorical Boats
The highlight of the festival is the spectacular night parade of the allegorical boats, which is held on the last Saturday of the event.
The boats, decorated with great creativity by local artisans, parade illuminated on the waters of the lake, creating a magical and evocative atmosphere.
The parade also takes on the character of a challenge between two districts of the city: the Borgo and the Città.

Historical Reenactments and Shows
The village comes alive with historical parades, the lighting of the Solstice Bonfire, Medieval Reenactments, Theatrical and Musical Shows, Concerts and Exhibitions.

Food and wine
During the festival, the streets of the town fill up with food stands where you can taste typical Umbrian products, such as ciriole alla ternana, and participate in competitions such as “Vicoli e Balconi Fioriti”.
