The Scientific Naturalistic Park of Novezzina is a protected area known for its extraordinary biodiversity and its geological characteristics, home to a wide range of flora and fauna, with numerous endemic species that are not found anywhere else in the environmental world
The Naturalistic Park includes
– Botanical Garden
The route develops between internal and external environments, with nature trails and exhibition spaces.
Inside the Garden, various typical environments have been recreated, such as the alpine pond where, in addition to the characteristic plants of the wetlands, it is easy to spot amphibians such as frogs and newts; the polyphytic meadow with numerous mountain blooms; and the beech undergrowth, characterized by ephemeral spring geophytes.
Interactive Devices and Immersive Areas where visitors can get closer to the flora of Baldo through touch, sight, smell and hearing, for an unforgettable journey into the complexity of nature
In the showcase dedicated to fauna the different evolutionary forces that have acted in the Baldo area are analyzed, while in the botany section the photos of pollen and seeds, taken with the electronic microscope, recall some endemic species and the herbarium sheets allow the in-depth study of themes relating to apomictic, vicariant, poisonous species, with a value ecological and genetic plasticity distinct.
The small room of herbs and Renaissance medicine features the anatomical tables dedicated to astral influences and the theory of signatures.
In the central display case you can discover the different methodologies used for the study of plants, from painted herbaria to fluorescence microscopy
– Astronomical Observatory
The Observatory organizes public openings during the spring and summer period.
The evenings generally begin around 9:00 pm, with a short astronomical conference.
Followed by a visit to the rooms and instruments of the Observatory. Weather permitting, recognition of the main constellations and observation of celestial objects with telescopes.
