Egyptian, Greek, Italic and Roman finds. One of the oldest Italian university museums that offers a rich overview of the civilizations of the ancient Mediterranean and materials from archaeological excavations conducted by the University.

The Museum of Archaeological Sciences and Art tells visitors the stories of the ancient inhabitants of the Mediterranean, from the Egypt of the Pharaohs to the Greek civilization and from the Italic populations to the Romans and Padua of two thousand years ago.

A fascinating journey to discover ancient cultures, but also invites you to learn about the stories of scholars and collectors who, over the centuries, have contributed to the birth and development of archaeological sciences

Among the strong points are the Egyptian collection – enriched by the materials from the excavations of Tebtynis (Fayyum) led by Carlo Anti in the 1930s – which includes hundreds of papyri, amulets, ostraca, coins, personal objects and a selection of faience ornaments, Pan’s Flute, a rare find of great interest for ancient music and culture.
