Immersed in a large English park, dedicated to the history of the Italian Risorgimento and the Resistance during the Second World War.

The Museo del Risorgimento e della Resistenza housed in Villa Guiccioli stands on the Ambellicopoli hill, the scene of the heroic resistance of 1848, when the population of Vicenza, together with volunteers from various Italian regions, defended the city against the Austrian troops.

The exhibition documents not only the Risorgimento, but also the history of the Resistance, offering a narrative that encompasses the main war events from the Napoleonic campaign of 1796 to the Liberation of 1945.

The collections include printed publications, periodicals, newspapers, manuscripts, portraits, paintings, prints, diaries, announcements and proclamations, decrees, private deeds, coins, medals and decorations, civil and military maps, bladed weapons and firearms, flags, military objects of various kinds.

Outside you can also admire Austrian cannons from the First World War in the courtyard.

The collection, undoubtedly the most interesting and of the highest historical value, is constituted by the Gabriele Fantoni Collection
